Movable furniture and Fixed furniture

In the hotel industry, "loose furniture" and "fixed furniture" are two important concepts in interior design and facility management. The main difference between them is whether they can be easily moved or relocated.

    Loose furniture

Loose furniture, also known as moveable furniture, plays a pivotal role in modern interior design, providing flexibility and spatial adaptability. The essence of movable furniture is its ability to easily transform a space. For example, a dining table can be moved to accommodate a party, or a bed frame can be rearranged to better fit the layout of a room. This adaptability is particularly useful in homes where needs change or space is limited, as it allows for efficient use of the area without sacrificing style or comfort.

This type of furniture usually includes:

    • Bed base&Headboard

    • Desks or office desks

    • Chairs (office chairs, lounge chairs)

    • Sofas

    • Luggage racks

    • Dining tables and chairs

    • Coffee tables

    • TV cabinets

    • Wardrobes (non-built-in)

    • Small side tables

    Fixed furniture

Fixed furniture, also known as built-in or non-movable furniture, is an integral part of interior design, seamlessly blending form and function. It is carefully designed to be an integral part of the space it occupies and is usually built to the specific dimensions and layout of a particular room or area, such as

This type of furniture usually includes:

    • Wardrobes or cabinets built into the wall

    • Fixed headboards (if directly attached to the wall)

    • Sanitary ware such as washbasins, bathtubs, toilets in the bathroom

    • Built-in kitchen equipment (such as dishwashers, ovens)

    • Fixed bookshelves

    • Partition walls (sometimes called fixed partitions)

    • Some decorative fireplaces (if permanently installed)

Distinguishing between loose furniture and fixed furniture is very important for the daily operation of the hotel, because it affects the workflow and cost considerations when cleaning, maintenance and redecorating. Additionally, when leasing or purchasing a property, fixed furniture is generally considered part of the real estate, while loose furniture may be considered movable property.
